Augmented Urban Gardens involves the study, development and use of urban or urban-fringe gardens. We investigate gardening methods across Europe with the aim of sharing knowledge about diverse horticultural practices and how to apply them in urban gardens. We also explore the ways that mechanical and digital technologies can be combined to transform gardens into artworks and venues for cultural events. The combination of hi-tech monitoring technologies, low tech mushroom cultivation and the harbourside environment allows us to explore many possibilities for cultural exchange.
